
Creamy Mushroom and Herbed Pasta

The ultimate creamy non-dairy, protein packed pasta! For a light, yet power-packed lunch!
2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
½ yellow onion, chopped
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
1 Cup Shitake mushrooms
1 Cup Cremini or button mushrooms
¼ Cup Sundried tomatoes, chopped
2 Cups Rice Milk, made with water
½ Cup Dry rice protein powder
1 teaspoon sea salt to taste
2 1/2 Cups Whole Wheat Penne, uncooked, gluten free is A-ok!
To top:
2 Tablespoons Basil, chiffonade, oregano or fresh parsley, to top
Fresh Grated Parmesan or Asiago cheese to top, or vegan cheese
In a large sauce pan add the 2 tablespoons olive oil, add the chopped onion and sautee for about 12 minutes on medium low heat. Add the minced garlic in for about 2 minutes.
Add in the chopped mushrooms and cook for about 10 minutes or so, getting some great color and flavor on there.
Add in the 2 cups of Almond Milk and then the 1/2 cup of rice protein powder, with a wooden spoon mix all together well to create a cream sauce. Stir and reduce for about 10 minutes. Then add in the sundried tomatoes.
While that is cooking, in another sauce pan add boil the 2 cups of penne cook thru and strain.
Marry the pasta into the large saucepan with cream sauce, toss to coat well with all of the sauce.
Top with herbs and cheese (optional) yum! Enjoy!

Zesty Growing Naturals' Salad Dressing

Yield: 2 large salads
Ingredients:
¾ Cup cold pressed olive oil
1 Tomato
1 Tbsp GN Original Protein Powder
1 Tbsp nama shoyu
1 Tbsp mustard seeds
1 Cayanne pepper
2 Tbsp water
Preparation:
Place all ingredients in blender until well mixed. Rip up and de-stem kale leaves, any kind of kale is fine. Pour desired amount of dressing over ripped or chopped kale and massage into kale for about 2 minutes. This will break it down nicely, creating a delightfully dark green salad. A guest favorite.

Ingredients:
3 roma tomatoes
1 red bell pepper
2 scallions or 1 small yellow onion
1 Tbsp GN Original Protein Powder
1 Tbsp white sesame seeds
1 Tbsp cold pressed organic olive oil
¼ cup fresh basil leaves or 1 Tbsp dried basil
½ tap sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
¾ tsp celery salt (non food starch)
1 Tbsp tocotrienols (optional)
1 ½ cups water
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth and creamy. The blending can warm it up slightly. This is a wonderful way to have your raw veggies!

Chocolate Chip & Oatmeal Protein Cookies
A delicious way to enjoy your favorite cookies with a little bit of a protein kick! No one will ever know that these delicious oatmeal "cookies" are actually protein packed treats! Yum!
1/2 cup Earths Balance butteryspread, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ C Growing Naturals Original Protein Powder for the extra protein kick you need mid-day or in the am!
2 eggs
2 Cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 cups quick oats/ instant oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 Cup semi-sweet choc chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, conventional Oryza and the room temp earths buttery spread. Mix well until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well, and scraping the sides of the bowl down with a spatula.
Gently rain in the flour, protein powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg into the creamed mixture. Then gently fold in the oats.
Line your cookie sheets with foil or parchment paper. Using a 1 or 2 teaspoons, gently form 1 inch balls and drop the dough on to the lined cookie sheet.
Place into the pre-heated 350 degree oven and bake for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove after 8-10 minutes, and cool completely before removing from the tray. Enjoy packed up and ready to go

1 ½ Tbsp GN Chocolate Protein Powder
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp raw cacao powder
3 dried figs, diced
½ Tbsp mesquite
½ Tbsp tocotrienols
½ tsp vanilla powder or extract
Preparation:
Place all ingredients in blender in the order they are written above. Blend until creamy. Chill and serve.
