Protein Shakes

While our protein tastes great on its own, we encourage new combinations because variety is the spice of life.
We're told by Growing Groupies submitting the recipes below that they've randomly added between 4-16 ozs water depending upon:

- how much other liquid is added

- how thick you like your shakes

So let loose and have fun experimenting!

Protein Pow Banana, Pecan, and Vanilla Brown Rice Protein MuffinsBanana, Pecan, and Vanilla Brown Rice Protein Muffins

Ingredients - blended together and divided into 12 muffin silicone cases; baked at 350 for ~35 minutes:

1 banana
4 egg whites
1/2 cup of oat flour (this can be subbed with rolled oats, quinoa flakes, or ground almonds)
2/3 cup of coconut milk (or any other milk, preferably of the nut kind)
2/3 cup of vanilla brown rice protein pow (I used this one; if you don't have access to it though, you could sub it with vanilla casein?)
1/2 tsp of baking powder
1/2 cup of pecans

They turned out really soft and super moist; pecanish and mmmm! I topped a couple with Greek yogurt + banana + cinnamon but, really, they can be topped with anything - e.g. jam, nut butter, fruit, protein frosting? Endless possibilities = Yum :-))))

Protein Pow Blueberry & Raspberry Protein BreadBlueberry & Raspberry Protein Bread

A loaf of protein bread: It's easy to make and quick to bake, no need for a shake or a big breakfast steak. You could cut yourself a slice (or seven!), and top freely with butter (it's heaven!) and... enough of my quote unquote rhyming. Here's the recipe for this, a deleeshus loaf of protein BOOM to start this Monday with :-)

Ingredients - blended together and baked in a bread loaf pan for about 40 minutes at 170 C (338 F):

1/2 cup of oats (I used gluten-free)
1/2 cup of vanilla brown rice protein powder
1 cup of liquid egg whites
2.5 tbsps of coconut flour
1 tsp of baking soda
1 cup of frozen raspberries (plus a few more to add on top after blending)

The result is vanillay bread that's soft, moist, and sweet, with a raspberry crunchiness to it that makes the whole thing sing in berry tones of UMPHHH! It goes fantastically well topped with organic grass fed butter, nut butter, some mushed up avocado or, of course, enjoyed solo, next to a cuppa joe's or a large dose of morning tea!

If you're into kicking the whole thing up a notch, you could then also grab several slices of this bread, coat them in egg and pan-fry them for a plate of insanely good protein french toast, oh la la! Sky's the limit ;-)

Macros per one whole loaf (it containing eight slices):

606kcals,
75.3g protein
45.4g carbos (6.3g sugars)
8.4g fat (54.6g sat)
16.3 fiber

This means that, if you slice it into eight, each slice will be only 75.7kcals, 9.4g protein. 4.6g carbs, 1g fat and 2g fiber.
